Case Types

The Office of Conflict Counsel and Civil Regional Counsel (RCC) only handles cases where a Judge appoints the RCC office.  Those types of cases are:

CRIMINAL CASES

Felony
Misdemeanor
Criminal Traffic
Criminal Contempt
Violation of a County or Municipal Ordinance
Juvenile Delinquency
Violation of Probation or Community Control
Motions Seeking Correction, Reduction or Modification of a Sentence
Motions Seeking Post-conviction Relief
Appeals for the above mentioned cases (if the Public Defender’s Appellate Office has a conflict)

CIVIL CASES

Dependency
Termination of Parental Rights
Tuberculosis Control
Guardian Advocate
Marchman Act (Involuntary Commitment for substance abuse treatment)
Baker Act (Involuntary Commitment for mental health evaluation and/or treatment)
